missed nine, but.....

so pretty and golden....
only EIGHT horrendously long days remain until I am Mrs. Lyons!

In other news, I started the Beth Moore Bible Study Ester. SO excited to see God move through these next nine weeks and through the relationships I have with the girls I will be studying alongside.
I am ready to learn.  I always learn so much when I do BM studies.

Did I mention I was getting married next weekend?!  What?!  I can hardly wait for a number of reasons, but most importantly, I can't wait for the time when the minister who is marrying us says we're HUSBAND and WIFE.  I am like jump-out-of-my-skin excited about hearing that ... and the groom kissing the bride ;)

Ok, finally off to bed.  Need as much beauty sleep as I can get these days!

change.

Change.  Dictionary.com gives us 8 different definitions for the word:

–verb (used with object)
1.    to make the form, nature, content, future course, etc., of(something) different from what it is or from what it would beif left alone: to change one's name; to change one's opinion;to change the course of history.
2.    to transform or convert (usually fol by into ): The witchchanged the prince into a toad.
3.    to substitute another or others for; exchange for somethingelse, usually of the same kind: She changed her shoes whenshe got home from the office.
4.    to give and take reciprocally; interchange: to change placeswith someone.
5.    to transfer from one (conveyance) to another: You'll have tochange planes in Chicago.
6.    to give or get smaller money in exchange for: to change afive-dollar bill.
7.    to give or get foreign money in exchange for: to changedollars into francs.
8.    to remove and replace the covering or coverings of: tochange a bed; to change a baby.

Why is that such a dirty word for so many people?  Many people fear the word and all that comes with it: change of job, change of residence, change of season, change in income.  These could all be very scary changes.  However, change is not always bad; in fact it can be very refreshing.  For instance, how great is it when you change your sheets?  I just love sleeping on freshly changed sheets.   I also love when I change my Brita filter or change clothes (after a shower) after a long run or workout.

In my life, change I experienced after removing myself from a toxic relationship was the most liberating experience of my whole life.  I never knew change could be so wonderful until that major adjustment in my life.  Now let’s fast forward over 2 years later and I am about to embark on a HUGE new season of change that will be even more wonderful…I can’t think of anything more blissful than knowing in just 16 days I will walk down the aisle to a multitude of change:
  • last name
  • items on my ring finger
  • the place I sleep on my bed (I like the middle, and I will now how to share)
  • grocery shopping to accommodate a handsome growing boy who will know take up residence in my home
  • priorities shift to incorporate a husband
  • having someone to share the chore list with (a girl can dream!)
  • scheduled recordings on my DVR (ok, adding football maybe isn’t so blissfulJ)

…this list goes on, and I can’t wait!!

Instead of pulling my hair out with all of the last-minute details of the event, I am going to bask in the beauty of the change I am about to encounter.  I am going to look forward with great anticipation to the change that is coming my way, all the while knowing it may not be easy at times, but it will be (and already is) such a blessing. Bring it on…Bobby, I am so thrilled to be your wife in just 12 days!
