Once Upon a Time....
A few months ago, we shared some great news with our families by way of pinata
{how cute is that lion!?}....
We had team pink vs. team blue....
Several kiddos took a swing at the lion pinata in hopes they would break it down. Once my sister put her softball skills to the test, the answer was revealed as it busted opened to reveal PINK candy! Everyone {especially team PINK} was thrilled a girl was on the way.....
Gifts were opened revealing adorable girl clothes and goodies....
Although BL and I couldn't have cared less what gender our sweet baby was, we were excited at having a little girl! Pretty sure BL was already taking interviews for her body guard!
Little did we know the treat we were going to get in a little less than 3 weeks.....
Ooopies!! They were wrong!!
That wasn't just umbilical cord...that was a penis. My sweet little girl wasn't a girl after all! SHE was actually a HE, and we are expecting a boy!
The poor ultrasound technician was shaking she was so nervous to tell me; pretty sure she thought I was going to hit her or scream one. Luckily for her, we just wanted a healthy baby, so this news was really just a funny chapter in our son's story. Another funny part in this twist, BL wasn't even with me when we found out the news! My sweet momma had come along to catch a glimpse at her newest grand baby and got to hear the news first hand. Although I was going crazy waiting to tell BL, I just knew I had to wait and do it in person, so my lips were sealed and I said nothing of it when we were on the phone. Instead, I headed out to shop for a boy's outfit and wrap it up to give BL when we were both home that night. It was so much fun to watch his reaction to the gift {although he had no clue until I asked him to look closer at the gift and picture!}, and we have been looking forward to a baby boy ever since.
And yes, we have had several ultrasounds since {one of the perks of having to see a specialist} and every time, it's still a boy. And yes, friends and family alike often like to ask if we've "still got a boy in there?". We do, and we are thrilled!!
