30 Day Challenge: Day 2, 3, 4

Yikes, a busy weekend made me two days behind...so today I will cover days 2, 3, 4. Enjoy :)

Day 2-Meaning behind your blog name
Home is Where the Heart Is is a book, which was then made into a movie, about a girl who gave birth to a baby girl while living in a Walmart.  Read it if you have time, it's heartwarming & kooky, watch the movie if you have less time, but the book is better.  Since this blog was mostly started to document how I made my new house my 'home' I thought this title was fitting.  The end.

Day 3-Your first love
No lie here folks, JTT was my first love.  My bloggy friend Ty mentioned him in one of her previous posts & it jogged my memory of just how "in love" with him I really was.  This is slightly humbling to admit, but I wrote him a love letter...pretty sure Mom found it.  Broke my 8 year old heart.  hehe ;)

Anywho, I can happily say that (as cheesy as it sounds) my hubby is truly my first real, REAL love.  I don't think there is any other love that can compare to the love between husbands and wives. He just gets me.  It's a different bond and love that comes with a lifelong commitment.  No other love before can even compare....sounds wise for being married a whooping 5 weeks. HA!

Day 4-Your parents

Awesome.  Honest.  Loving.  Fun.  Selfless.  Forgiving.  Patient.  Hilarious.  Understanding.  Helpful.  Kind.  God-fearing.  Amazing.  Generous.  The.  Best.  Ever.

Dad is the funny guy, who always makes people laugh.  He and I have a special bond...one that causes us to get up at 4:00am every Black Friday and go find some deals.  He is my #1 fan and always supportive of decisions I make.  He coached almost everything I did, and my siblings too...he really is an amazing man!

Momma is the kindest, most gentle human being I know.  She is a best friend, a confidant, and always warms my heart.  I know she will be honest with me, and encourage me to see the best in everything, and everyone.  We did not get along like we do now, from the time I was 9 until about 18....I'm so thankful she was patient with me and never stopped loving me....even when I was a major brat bucket ;)

I really do have the best parents ever.  They are amazing, and I am in awe of their ability to do it all, all the time. They raised five crazy kiddos, for crying out loud!!  It is my prayer that BL & I will be able to parent like they did.  I love you both so much!!!

  1. Love parents. I think we both hit the parent lottery. And as far as JTT goes, you'd have to fight me for him. I dreamed of his and his swooshy hair every night.
